Sweet 13:Mary Kay Party

This weekend we celebrated Big Sisters Sweet 13.  I am beyond disbelief that I am now a Mom to a TEENAGER!!  13 years have gone by like a blink of an eye.  I can still picture her running around the same size as Little Sister.  We had a FUN weekend, my Mom flew in from out of town and we had a house full of girls to celebrate the special day.
On her birthday morning she opened her presents and lots of cards from family.  Photo albums, infinity scarf, make-up, Growing-Up Girl figurine were just a few of her gifts.
I've been wanting to buy her charm bracelet for several years but I wanted to wait for this special birthday!  We bought her a James Avery charm bracelet, I had one when I was a teenager too.  It's so fun to build your bracelet with special memories.
Big Sis picked out the colors and I made all the decorations and treats for the party.
I had originally planned to purchase a party set off Etsy but decided to try to  make my own.  {I'll be sharing a tutorial on how to make your own custom printables soon}
I love the Mason Jar drinks all over so I bought some and made my own of those as well.  I cut circles out of card stock out and used some cute bakers twine I found at Michaels.  That's also where I found the matching straws.   Pink Lemonade in these were super cute and fun drinks for the girls!
I made a bunch of tissue paper pom pom's and this birthday banner.
We had family pictures in these black frames in the dining room, but for the party I switched them out with ones of Big Sis as she has grown.  Going through all her pictures was such a bittersweet trip down memory lane for me.
The girls loved the cake pops and cupcakes.

The party was all about MAKE-UP!  The past couple of months Big Sis has become more and more interested in make-up.  I wanted her to learn all about skin care and proper make-up application so we had a Mary Kay Consultant come over and teach the girls.  They had so much fun learning and playing with the make-up.  They all looked beautiful, both with and without the make-up.
The Party favors were these adorable terry cloth make-up bags that I found at Target on clearance! Normally $13.99 a bag, but I got them for $3.99....SCORE!
I also embroidered wash cloths for the girls.
Here is Big Sis before and after the party, such a beautiful girl both inside and out.
Happy Birthday to our Beautiful Baby Girl...I mean Teenager!!
We had a fun day celebrating YOU :)

Happy 8th Birthday

We celebrated a birthday in our house this week!  Middle Sis is officially 8 years old, can NOT believe it!!  These girls just keep growing up faster and faster every year.
She got to open one present in the morning before school and the
rest that afternoon when everyone was home from work and school.
Little Sis and I visited her at school to eat lunch with her.
We brought Mc Donald's and cupcakes per her request.
She had been asking for a Fashion Design Kit for a while
now and was THRILLED to get this from one of her Grandparents.
I love how her face shows how excited she was while opening all of her presents.
She loves the Lego Friends from another set of Grandparents.  Her and Daddy will be putting her new camper together this weekend!

I didn't get a picture of her blowing out her candles, but I did get this video :)
HAPPY HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY my LOVE!!

American Girl Doll Visit

Today was a very special day!  Middle Sis is turning 8 next Monday but I took her out of school today for a special Mommy and Me date at the American Girl store.  It worked out great that Daddy was home for most of the day to stay with Little Sis while Middle Sis and I lived it up like Royal Princesses!!  She had no idea what I had planned for us today and was so excited when we walked up and saw the store!  I hope you enjoy the pictures from our visit.
We started out at the Doll Hair Salon where her doll "Nicki" had her hair done and she even got a special birthday crown.  Can you imagine having a job in a Doll Hair Salon...FUN!
She had fun walking around checking out all the different dolls, outfits and accesories.
This wardrobe was gorgeous.
She has the horse on the right.
I took a picture of these because Big Sis plays the flute.
"My American Girl" Dolls, that you pick out to have her look like you.
Middle Sis has one that looks like her.  Big Sis handed down her "Nicki" and "Samantha" dolls to her, which have both been discontinued.  Each year there is a new "Girl of the Year".

Then there are lots of Historical Dolls to choose from.
This is the Rebecca collection.
Molly Collection
All the Historical Dolls in their Holiday Dresses

 Kit, Ruthie, Molly, and Emily
These are part of the Bitt Baby Collection, that Little Sis has started to play with...hand-me-downs from  her big sisters.

After the doll salon and shopping we had a reservation at the Bistro for lunch.
They have these chairs that clip onto the tables for the dolls and if you don't have a doll with you they have some that you can borrow to eat with, they think of everything.
A special fruit smoothie while we wait.
After our lunch they brought out a cake and ice cream for her and even sang her Happy Birthday!
She was in shock I think, but she loved every minute of it!
What a wonderful day we had, it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
Big Sis went to the NY store back when we lived on Long Island, so this is a fun experience that I looked forward to having with Middle Sis and hopefully some day with Little Sis too.
